circa 1900, 28in. nitro reproved replacement barrels, the ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, the tubes engraved 'HENRY ATKIN LTD. 27. ST. JAMES'S ST. LONDON. S.W.1.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, fine acanthus scroll engraving with beaded bordering, the undersides with cartouches engraved 'HENRY ATKIN FROM PURDEY'S, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15in. stocks (swept at combs, No.2 a replacement) including 7/8in. recoil pads, fore-end woods with insert repairs, weight 6lb. 10oz., in their leather double case

Provenance: The Lot comes with a quantity of Henry Atkin related papers and articles. Included is an original share certificate, numbered 30, made out in the name of Arthur Edwin Hodges for 199 shares valued at £1 per share (share numbers 8 - 206 from a total of 3000), also a Henry Atkin Ltd. First Mortgage Debenture dated 1905, some original company brochures of different periods and some photocopied record entries
